Thief Returns Dog, Keeps Truck & Trailer

The fire chief of Milinocket, Maine, lost his pickup truck and a trailer loaded with four antique snowmobiles during a trip to Quebec on the weekend. But at least he got his dog back from the thief who drove off with the animal.
The suspect apparently returned Saturday afternoon with the chief's dog, tied him to a tree behind the motel, then called the motel office to tell the clerk where the animal could be found. From Canada.com
